I'm eager to see how that truck turns out and what solution you arrive at. In regards to those Transformers I didn't expect you to find one that fit those specifications because I believe it was tailor-made for that particular microphone. That's why I'm so eager to learn the magical characteristics of this Transformer that makes it do what it does so I could possibly replicate it in the future. As soon as I can get some inductance measurements of the primary and secondary winding to jot down in my notebook I might get brave enough to open this thing up and unwind it to count the number of wraps

Reason for edit: not ready to unwind it yet

    Found Rockwell Collins P/N: 677-0035-000
The price is $213 directly from Rockwell Collins or $16 from Surplus sales in Nebraska.
[IMG]There's only 52 left in Nebraska which means once those are gone the price goes up to $213 each.

Not yet. I'm still looking at other options but I will definitely keep that one in mind.
After purchasing them for $2.50 from Telex 16 bucks is a hard pill to swallow but I will if I have to

They don't make anything close. It must be a 1:2 turns ratio and
    150/600
    150 primary / 600 secondary.
DC resistance through the primary 20 ohms.
DC resistance through the secondary approximately 86 ohms or whatever it was I posted earlier in this thread.

Surprised the transformer gurus neglected to mention that split primary and secondary windings can be connected for either 1:2 (150:600 S), 1:1 (600:600 S), or 2:1 (600:150 S) operation. Distortion, although specified for 600 S sources, will be further reduced by lower impedances.[IMG]
    This increases our options.
