Still not sure what the auto save thing is for. I just found out that ctl clicking the reply with quote tag does not open the quote in a new tab so you can multi quote different people in one post like it used to. It stays on the same page and erases the long post you just spent ten minutes typing out.

 

first time you compose 10-k of text and lose it due to keyboard click that was not intended the auto-save feature becomes sanity-saver

 

That's what happened, only without the sanity saving part as nothing was saved.
