What type of job do you have? The majority of trucking jobs are low pay and lots of disrespect at shippers and receivers. Everyone advertises high cent per mile but it doesn't take a genius to figure paid by the mile regulated by the hour sucks. I was pulling in $1,300 a week after taxes and benefits 20 years ago as a company driver. That's around the average company driver pay today. So not really a pay raise, in reality a pay cut.

Actually I take back my comment that "everyone advertises high rate per mile pay". I have noticed in recent years no companies advertise pay per mile, or at least very few do. Years ago they would all have payscales publicly posted based on experience. If it wasn't in an ad it was on a website. Now they all must be ashamed to post their payscale because hardly any of them publicly post that info, they want you to call a recruiter so you can listen to the lies. But you don't figure out they're lies until you get to orientation. They count on most people not getting up and walking out at that point, which most don't. Just one of gazillion reasons why lots of people who have a CDL in this country don't want to work in this industry. You have to love trucking to put up with all the BS otherwise it won't ever last.
