you can drive any truck you like, I drove Mercedes COE in Europe, of course almost all the trucks there are COEs . drivers there do not spend so much time out as we do here. they are tight inside. So for short runs COE is fine, but to spend 3 weeks on the road I would go all the way with hood.

Yes but the euopean COEs are actually designed so you can stand up in them. The only one I've ever seen come close in the states is the FL Agrosy and you don't see them much any more. The european trucks also have fully syncronized transmissions too, so no double clutching.
-
The one I drove had EPS tranny, they called it Electronic Power Shift. That was designed to use clutch every time I shifted gears, shifter looked like a joystick. wiring harness connected that "joistick" to a computer which actually shifted gears. That particular truck was not the one I could stand up in.

I'd love to import a Mercedes Actros from Europe and drive it here.

Unless a guy named Fat Bob owned it, its not the one. -
There were three guys from your country in Louisville about three years ago and a few weeks later I ran into them at my friends shop in Joplin,Mo. They were loading up what I believe is that truck and an A model into a container.
-
That would be the one.

That would have been Turk, justin and whoever it was they took over with them.
their website is the usual then kloscustomtrucks with the usual after it.
there are pics of the finished truck and some of the build, and it was featured in 10-4 magazine at one point also. -
Great idea! Have fun blind-siding everywhere that you wouldn't otherwise need to with the superior peripheral view that a cabover does not allow.

never sought about blind-siding, not fun at all aspecially in really tight places.
