I never had to chain up, which is good since we never carry chains around here. I just lock the differential and power through the muck. There were a few times I didn't think I was going to make it up a few steet frac roads when it was raining though.

OTR guys don't have it easy. Some of those dock sites in cities are a mess, but geting into them is definitely a skill that can be learned, provided you pay attention and have someone who knows what they are doing to teach.

    Which store is that?

Sorry, I can't help with that one, I only pull one wagon at a time.

That blacktop was probably Mines Road (FM 1472) or US Hwy 83. It really sucks having to hunt for a new lease at night, cuz you can't see anything around you. It's not quite as bad if there's a full moon, but they really should have field supervisors or day drivers going out and making maps before the night guys get sent out there.

We have a small store in Robstown. Only four pumps. The only thing it seems to be realy good for is getting robbed at night. :p

I have no idea what road it was to this day. Al I remember is that it was huge well complex way down 35, maybe 20 mles or so past the Gardendale LACT. It was a huge area with two ways in and two ways out and dozens of well and frac sites. Had more security than any well site I had visited to that point, probably because of its proximity to the border. I still can't believe it when I think about how my partner's truck would completely dissapear in the brush when he wasonly fifty yards ahead of me. All you could see was red lights in the bush. How one of us didn't get stuck or get a flat I'll never know.

ugh lease roads, best one i can remember is Gates Ranch. i used to describe it as the best road for a Ford or Chevy to come down and film a commercial. if their trucks survived that road after a rain,it'll survive anything, and finding my way around for leases at night wow, not fun

I will take our truck and trailer setups into spaces I would never ever ever take a semi. That's what they are designed for, as long as you leave yourself room to pull forward, to stretch out and articulate the pull trailer your good.

Lease roads never really bothered me, unless I had a fifteen mile run on one. It was when you made a wrong turn that got me. Not to many places to turn around out there if you make a mistake.

I figure it would turn a lot easier with that towbar in between the tanks. Kinda like one of those articulated city buses.

However, backing it up must be tons of fun! :D

It's actually not hard at all once you get the hang of it, hardest thing would be trying to back on a curve. It's weird because the tighter you make your turns with this set up, the more it will bring the trailer around when moving forward. It took me awhile to adjust to not turning wide like a semi because then the trailer won't turn as sharp

The lease roads on Gates Ranch aren't that bad. The dirt road to get to the ranch from 2688 is worse than the lease roads, at least after a rain. Deep water holes, and you have to take them at a crawl cuz you never know how deep they're gonna get.

The road that's really bad 24/7 is Faith Ranch Road, the dirt road that goes off the end of 186, SSW of Carrizo Springs.
