Funny though you don't see (well at least I don't see) many foreigner in HH/oilfield, logging and other really niche segments. General van/reefer/flatdeck/gravel they are definitely the majority.
In-cab cameras?

Because those are generally the entry level sectors of the industry. Anything beyond that requires real training.
Any driver can grab a dry van or reefer and go deliver freight, the same can’t be said for logging, heavy haul, fuel or chemical.upnorthwpg, AModelCat and BigHossVolvo Thank this. -
Well, Westcan and Seaboard would beg to differ on fuel
but you’re spot on.
Van has got to be the worst, esp at drop and hook companies. Reefer, we have to deliver, so that weeds some of the flip flops out. LTL Van was the best, before people realized they could just use FedEx and UPS for less. Gravel is lowest of the low, bad Flatbed they have “tarpers” now on both ends to deal with loading and unloading, the flip flops just hook and book.Flint1 and Phantom Trucker Thank this. -
Yeah Seaweed is definitely messing up the market out here. Trimac gave up fuel hauling out of Calgary due to the war on rates against WasteCan and Seaweed.BigHossVolvo, Flint1 and magoo68 Thank this.

Sounds like a good gig and I agree, I would stay there as well.
Yah never know with this crazy ### government ... they might even try to charge you a iHaul Carbon Anti Bison tax. LOL
CheersBigHossVolvo Thanks this. -
My last company had cameras front back and sides. I could see my camera footage on the safety lady's PC. I could even load the app on my phone (like I want another Big Brother app on my phone).
My position (after a prior career in Tech) is that I like to control the technology, I don't like it to control me. Forward facing is great, it saved my butt after another driver tried to run me off the road. Rear facing is my breaking point. This is corporate voyeurism. Anything else they tell you is BS.Runawayscreaming, Canadianhauler21, skipgears and 2 others Thank this. -
pretty much I'm only up against the in-cab voyeurism, and that's only because I like to let my dog drive while I'm out in the bunk taking a S H I T
The outside cams I'm fine with.BigHossVolvo and Canadianhauler21 Thank this.
