The company I'm driving for is using radar systems for many years now - for safety reasons. They might have done some good at some point.
But at the same time they're using the recoded data against the driver. Warnings, suspensions, governing the truck at 55 mph and terminations are the result.
The same is going to happen with those cameras.
But as long as rhe drivers give them a reason for it, they will install them. It's up to the drivers, simply stay focused on what you're supposed to do DRIVING.

The Boiled Frog Phenomenon:
The boiling frog is an anecdote describing a frog slowly being boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is placed in boiling water, it will jump out, but if it is placed in cold water that is slowly heated, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death. The story is often used as a metaphor for the inability or unwillingness of people to react to threats that occur gradually, such as creeping state surveillance.
The story's common metaphorical use is a caution for people to be aware of even gradual change lest they suffer eventual undesirable consequences.Canned Spam, MrEd, That girl rocks and 2 others Thank this. -
And that metaphor can be applied to far more than just the trucking business.
MrEd and That girl rocks Thank this. -

I'm all for outside facing camera's. Hell i have my own dash cam to protect my asset and the company's asset. I don't want one inside

Every time this subject comes up the opposition seems to be less.
Personally I would be finding another job.
Of course I wouldn't be asking what to do. If you need to ask...
There's many threads about this subject and each time it comes up there seem to be more defending the idea of having a cam pointed at them. Not sure what to make of that.Canned Spam Thanks this. -
That could best be described as "incrementalism".
DoubleO7 Thanks this. -
That's what I did when the company wanted to put e-logs in my truck. Would do it 10x as fast over "driver-facing" cameras.tinytim Thanks this.
