I also have the Rand-McNally truck GPS.
I enter addresses and sometimes it works.
Good point for this is on unfamiliar roads it marks just truck friendly, not shortest routes.
If I'm going to a new location, I turn it on and use both this and my phone.
I have "Google Driving Directions" app added to my phone.
Search for it and add it to your phone.
On the top there is a microphone, push it, and say "Driving directions to ........"
Door to door, easy peasy.
If you don't preface it with "Driving directions to" sometimes it gets stupid.
In over my head??

Just a quick update for everyone that asked as well as a couple of new questions...
Started work Early Monday with a load ready to go. Boss gave me the keys, set me up on Omnitracs and sent me out right away . Truck isnt a 2018 as he promised me but it is an automatic and it has no governer on it, so once I got out of California I was flying. My backing sucks but it’s slowly getting better as I build my confidence back up. I was told he’d pay me from end to end meaning I snap a pic of my ODO at the yard and snap another one after my round trip when I’m back at the yard again. He told me he doesn’t care how I get there as long as I’m on time. For the drivers who have run central Florida here’s my question; I should be in plant city by tomorrow and when I get there the boss wants me to do a reset. I’ll probably be out of hours for the day or close to out by the time I deliver. Are there truck stops close by? Motels that cater to truckers?? Is traffic a nightmare?? Is it easy to get out of the Tampa Bay Area once I’m finished?? I am allowed to use PC but I’m not sure what the rules are on that for how much I’ll be able to drive. Also, I have administrative rights over my ELD but when I contacted Omnitracs to edit my log over a mistake I made they said that by law they are no longer allowed to edit drive time for anyone including administrators. Is this true? Thanks for the help guys... -
To give you a heads up on personal conveyance, once you deliver, you still beed to be line 3 until you park somewhere like a truck stop, unless you're completely out of hours, then you can use PC.
How long and how far you PC is upto your boss. I have no restrictions on PC from my co, but most aren't like that. They usually have some sort of mileage or time restriction, which can be bs. Im gonna guess your boss has no restrictions set up.
If you're on a 34 and you want to go somewhere to eat or shop, then you use PC. Any time you're not under dispatch or positioning yourself to be closer to a shipper/reciever, you can use PC.
The rules for PC are fairly vague and upto interpretation, by anyone from the driver to law enforcement. Being able to communicate why you used PC a certain instance can go a long way as well.
Maybe I missed it, but what route did you run from Ca to Fl?Soundx3Soljah Thanks this. -
Soundx3Soljah Thanks this.

My backing skills are atrocious. Like I really suck. I tend to drive my clock all the way down so that when I get to the truck stop I only have 30 minutes or less left. the stops are always full, so in five days I’ve had to use PC twice to find a place to park. If I’m still under load and use PC, am I allowed to move forward along my route or do I have to move in a different direction all together? -
I really do not know the law as far as moving forward to find a safe place to park. I do know what direction I would take, if that makes sense.
