If a carrier has to make an entry on their accident register or an insurance claim is filed because of something deemed to be your fault your going to get hit with an accident, count on it. This accident has the potential to follow you for 10 years. Safety has no options in the matter. Incidents are acts that don't require entries on the accident register and generally are handled internally and not reported. Safety has a lot of leeway on these. If you have driven 2 or 3 years and had a bad oh #### moment safety might chalk it up to an internal incident. However do 3 or 4 and you might start getting hit with preventables. Moral of all this is safety has a lot of latitude.

He could have hit him at 90 mph, but decided to do it at precisely 3.27 mph. Gently.

You drive a highway truck with a door tied by a shoelase? Every trucker knows you use a rubber snubber. Just curious how do you dent a Sat. dish? Aren't they on the roof?

Most companies use a flat amount to define "incident" from "accident". I think most will use $500 or $ 1000 as the demarcation.

That half a bumper was over $1000 on a Frieghtliner after labor and parts. $1500 if painted.

By your own admission you have had 5 collisions. You might want to improve on that, or practice changing bed linens as a career.

Dude, just admit that so far you’ve had a lot of screw ups resulting in damage. You can only blame so much on everything else, the common denominator is you. You’d do yourself a favor by accepting that and just actively working on what you need to in order to become a “pro”. If you were a roofer, and in a 1 year period you had 6 new roofs that leaked, would you call yourself a pro? Be real man..

People on here give you crap because you want to pretend that you aren’t causing damage just because it’s small in size. Plus you’ve basically asked the same question roughly 1 million times. No on can tell you what your current company will tell a future company. Or what they will submit to your whatever.... how about you work it out and make a post explaining your situation, how it was resolved (or not) for others who might be in a similar situation as you.

You can get all offended. But the attitude of #### happens is why you have hit objects.

    #### does not happen. There are drivers with millions of miles never putting a scratch on anything. But to a man none of them have the attitude of #### happens.

    Ok hold up a moment.

First. Ive seen that video. It's a terrible thing to watch a so called driver rape the truck so to speak. So stupid. Brain dead actually. It's when I'll be the one videotaping. I aint gonna run up to him saying whoa #### you whoa. The sooner hes eliminated from the industry the better.

    Second. You.

If you ever feel that you are being mistreated here on TTR there are two options. First is the ignore list. People take cheap shots at me all the time. The same old wore out tired insults, inneundos and so on. Save it. I'll stick em on the ignore list. (But that's not the end all be all for some, I brought some back off that list after a while)

The second option is to talk it over with the moderators if you felt particularly bad over something someone said to you online. We are in a time where it's very possible to commit crimes using words against someone else. So, if someone hurt you from behind a keyboard and it's a problem, then take it up with the mod. They know darn well quickly if it fits a pattern or not.

TTR membership is large. When they can be bothered to post sometimes, there is some horseplay, teasing and who knows what else. I can do a little bit of that in good humor and be nice about it. No problem. But when someone is being really dumb that's the end of that. Maybe I am the one who was dumb who knows?

Its really valuable when the occasional darwin gets ahold of a semi online on video doing something this stupid. I just lay on the floor and laugh. That has to be very good medicine says the doc. But that's not the only medicine thank god.

You have some challenges in your employment situation. No more or maybe more than some others who have done the same or more than you. You would be surprised to understand there is a million going through the cloudy days sometimes with these tiny little issues that will all go away in enough time.

You just need to decide who to ignore, toss the really bad ones by bouncer and literally stop doing those little things with a big rig. I can go 10 years and have without a problem and then one day destroy like 15K in store inventory in a situation no one could ever imagine. I did not get fired. Too valuable for that, espeically when the root cause is not me but a store manager who could not be bothered to come out of his ivory tower and deal with a trapped delivery truck. And so thus the loss.

*We were back the next day, and he actually had a army of staff dealing with us and protecting us from Connecticuts famously impatient car drivers there.

He should have done that the previous day. But oh well.... It's been almost 20 years since that day and for me I get angry at the wasteful loss due to sloth and not caring by those in position of power and authority to prevent a problem.

I AM however happy Im not crucified on you tube back then doing that.

    BigBob410 and jammer910Z Thank this.
