Maybe u old school truckers could help me out with some cb slang .... I went to grab the cb this afternoon to let northbound know there was a indian police sittin there right past where the speed limit dropped with no warning . I grabbed the mic and realized i didnt know the slang for indian police so i improvised ....
" NORTHBOUND NORTHBOUND u got a bear with feathers sittin right over the hill past the 45 sign "
Yep , bear with feathers. . Thats the best i could come up with LMAO .
So is there a term for indian police on the rez , or we just gonna call them bears with feathers ?? Oh wait i probably offended somebody ??
Oh well it gave them northbound drivers a good laugh![]()

You could try just using the term bear. Or, if you're feeling brave you could stop and ask the tribal officer if he's offended by the term "bear with feathers". He might not be offended.
The worst that could happen would be that you'd get to see what the inside of a reservation jail looks like. Look at it as a learning experience.Vic Firth, 650cat425, Sirscrapntruckalot and 2 others Thank this. -
That would be Running Bear with Feathers.
Been driving through the reservation down old 41 through the Everglades to the Keys for 35 years.
Been pulled over once back in the day. I don’t mess with those speed limits running through there. The Veteran, singlescrewshaker, 650cat425 and 3 others Thank this. -

I didn't know they had their own police force. I can't say I've ever seen a native band police vehicle around these parts.

I'll just say this...you're on their ground and they make the rules. Maybe you'd find one with a sense of humor. Maybe not.
