What happens is, I'll go home....the first Friday that comes around, I get a good check and I'm at home when I get it. I'll enjoy a few days off, I'll come back to work. Next Friday comes around, my check is tiny because most of the pay period on that check was spent at home, and at this point, what's left of the funds from the previous check isn't anywhere near enough to get you through until your next good check, which leads to taking out advances because you have nothing without them, which eats into checks that you haven't even received yet. Like I said, it's getting old.

i'm trying not to turn this into an insult match but why do you need to take advances again? have some bills that are due shortly after you return to work? that makes sence
yea I took a few advances when I started but I had NO money, so I had to gamble on this job, its paid off so far. and yes I have to take advances when I go take a toll road.
even when you were in truck driving school or with your first company they said "do not take advances"
again i'm not trying to turn this into a fight I just need to know why you take advances, is it an emergency, or close to it? -
SoCal, as far as personal conveyance, they don't mind you bob tailing to restaurants, malls etc. when you have time-that's one of the good things about IRT, they don't hound you about things like that and idling, chains, etc. About e-logs, they're waiting as long as they can, I think they realize that they'll eventually have to have everybody on them, but it sure will put a crimp on their operations
socal Thanks this. -
we all got the qualcomm message this morning talking about how we need to idle the trucks right? I have a question
if I step out of the truck for a few minuites (food, urinate, defecate, etc) how long will it be ok to shut off the truck to run inside? I don't want to leave and come back to a stolen truck (that would be fun to explain) -
Fuel can gel in just a few minutes if it's cold enough. I wouldn't shut it off to go inside a truck stop. Lock the door with your spare key and go take care of bidness.
-
I don't have a spare key
yea, I ended up with a frozen up truck the other day, that was a lousy experience
how do they fix ungelled fuel at the shop? -
If you're not smart enough to carry spare keys then there's nothing I can do for you.stabob Thanks this.
-
Why would they need to fix ungelled fuel?
-
Yup. I have always asked for a spare key wherever I have worked. That key then gets hooked to my personal keychain which is always with me in my pocket.
-
I will do this
thank you so much!
