Grand Casino Resort in Reno has a good truck parking area that's only 100 yards or so from the front door. Pretty nice place. I had my wife with me. We didn't get a room, just slept in the truck afterwards. The next day we had coffee while cruising across the Sierra Nevada mountains. Good scenery and took a lot of pictures.

And I think the long dead heading is common at IRT or other food grade outfits. I've deadheaded 900 miles to Great Falls Montana from Iowa to get vegetable oil for Georgia. I've also dead headed 900+ miles to McAllen too. Never bothered me since it was the same pay as being loaded.

it bothers jabber because he thinks the company is losing money, hes not very smart enough to know irt on most accounts is being paid to deadhead that far

No I dont drive yet. Went to stevens an got turned away because doc wanted a stress test due to high BP. Its under control with meds. But he got it in his head that i have heart issues. even though they checked it an said it was all good. But I cant afford a stress test as I have no insurance. so Im looking for another way to get into trucking. Any Ideas on who isnt so stricked on BP issues please let me know. I dont have a cdl but I know i can pass the tests. I do have a learners permit.

Yeah, I think all food grade companies bid their contracts to cover round trip/dead head miles due to the fact you can't just haul anything. I know the guys that run otr at my current company dead head to Michigan to pick up flour for Tulsa all the time. I asked my boss if they bid round trip on loads like that and his response was "You have to with food grade".

I don't mind deadheading
the reason I ask what I asked was because I was wondering if others also get good runs out of there, I want to make sure i'm not getting all the good stuff while y'all get crap, that would suck. -
I think they spread it around to everyone. I rarely hauled a load under 800 miles during the time I worked at IRT.

I just had an interesting conversation with dispatch, however he wasn't 100% sure on the law
if one gets kicked off a property because of no parking IRT allows us to put ourselves on Line 5 for up to 1 hour to find parking. (obviously after you tell saftey)
I thought that rule only applied IF you had time on your 11, 14, and 70, he said he wasn't 100% sure. but IRT allows 1 hour of line 5
obviously that applies only when empty, you can't line 5 when loaded (I think that also turns into a theft charge on top ofthe falsifying log charge)
does anyone know the exact ruling? -
Who kicked u out, pretty sure line 5 driving loaded is a big no no
-
I will be empty, not loaded
and Kraft in Walton, NY. I was asking "what if they kick me out"
