I drove for IRT in 2014 and was pretty happy there. I always averaged 3000 miles per week and got along with everyone in the offices. I ended up leaving and have been at the same local job ever since (last 2 years). Here lately I've been kicking it around about going back OTR and I always told myself if I ever did, IRT is who I would go back to. Just wanted to get some feedback from anyone on here who is currently working there or has in the last 2 years since I've left. What kind of miles and home time are you guys averaging now days? I heard they raised the mileage pay to compensate for the elogs right after I left.
Thanks,
Larry

I don't work for them and never have but last week I was in Clovis, NM and 25% of the Loves was filled with IRT. (It's like that every time I go through there.)
You sure you want to give up local to hang out waiting for milk?Another Canadian driver and Dharok Thank this. -
If the money is what it was at IRT when I worked there in 2014 ($1,000 a week+ after tax) I do. I was based out of Clovis when I was with them before but I was an OTR driver and ran everything from McAllen,TX to Ontario, CA to Bradenton, FL, Lowville, NY, Great Falls, MT and everything in between. I left right as they switched the fleet to elogs though. Curious as to how that's affecting everything. I'm burned out on the local gig and ready for a change. Been pulling a pneumatic tanker hauling flour to bakeries for 2 years. Home every night, off every Saturday, and drive a 600,000 mile day cab International that looks like something you'd haul beer with. Getting ready to relocate too, so IRT would benefit in more ways than one providing the money is still the same.

PS.. Money is getting to be a joke where I'm at right now and things are on the downhill slope at this small outfit considering the owner is 80+ yrs old. 1 owner, 1 dispatcher, couple of shop hands type outfit.

Did you end up back with IRT?

I had an old timer start orientation with my at my company and he said he came from them, I also wanted to join to gain more tanker experience. He said I should stay away. Lots and lots of sitting and they don't pay detention or layover... So no thanks. Specially with elogs... I don't think there's any money there.
