The Leesburg dairy is a big one, Baconton is another. Those tractors you see from the road at Leesburg are most likely taking a break there. I have only done drop and hooks at those places. We have a bunch of tanks staged there which aren't visible from the road.

couple of my cousins drive for southeast milk inc. man they up that way mostly every week dropping and hooking at that one big dairy of 19 and Jackson dairy road

I might look into indian river next month to see if they have anything around the northern Florida and south & north georgia area I know y'all are pretty big hauling milk down hwy 19 or i10

That's the dairy I was referring to in Baconton. I have been there a few times usually enroute back to Winter Haven for hometime.

Do you mean for SE Regional specifically?. I know they hire from pretty much anywhere in the country. I have no additional information about SE beyond what that driver told me about all the dairy loads.

I don’t have much knowledge on regional routes here either. I’ve always been OTR.

When I hired on in December of 2016, I brought another driver with me (I was his referral) who had worked at a previous company with me. He runs regional out of the Clovis terminal and makes 6 figures. He drives 320 miles from a dairy farm to an ice cream plant and 320 miles back each day. It’s a drop/hook on both ends. I think he does 6 loads a week. He couldn’t be happier. I’ve heard local/regional drivers in California talk about having similar runs where they haul water for IRT, but I don’t know the details of it. Point being, you don’t have to be OTR and run coast to coast like me to make a great living here. The days of sitting around for hours and hours waiting at customers have been over for a long time. I don’t know if it’s because they purchased additional trailers so that more things are drop/hook or just weeded out those customers over the years, but regardless, things are much more efficient at the company now. Once in a blue moon a guy might have a bad day somewhere, but for the most part, you’re constantly moving. A “bad day” meaning, say it’s the 4th of July weekend and everything is closed or running on a skeleton crew for the holiday. In a situation like that you may have to hang out somewhere waiting for a plant to reopen, etc. It’s pretty rare.

That water run in California is ridiculous. When I hired on back in 2020 they tried to talk me into it, but at the time I wasn’t interested in local. The people in Visalia couldn’t keep anyone on it for long. I ended up having my situation change and needed to be home more so I gave it a shot. Found out real quick why no one stayed. Your driving around so cal and because the loads are intrastate your running California HOS. I worked the entire 16 probably everyday. Drove close to the 12. The loads are percentage but my take home for like the two weeks I did it was about $700 for close to 80 hours worked. So unless something about that changed, I highly recommend anyone avoid it

How much did each water load pay?. $800 is pretty poor money. I know the dedicated guys out of Bensalem make $100ish per juice load and can run 15-18 loads per week with weekends off.
