I guess Facebook is where company announcements are being made.
Maybe I should go take a look at the Facebook page...then again, so many other places I would rather spend my internet time.

It's possible, but considering the no touch nature of the operation and zero tank training offered, I don't see them setting up a training program just to drive tankers.
I did hear that Cordele GA got a bunch of new pump tractors as they are going to be doing oil there so I would imagine they would need to offer training on running PTOs and pumps etc.Speed_Drums and Tanker_82 Thank this. -
I mean yeah that was kind of what I was thinking. My training was drive around the block and yup you’re good to go.Speed_Drums, Redtwin and Tanker_82 Thank this.

I was going to type the same thing about there not needing to be much training on tanks since we don’t participate in the loading/unloading at IRT other than the handful of pump trucks we have. I just assumed it was a new insurance or driver qualification file requirement similar to a road test.
Before I hired on several years ago, I had pulled a pneumatic tank hauling flour and had also pulled an end dump hauling petroleum coke out of refineries to various ports and power plants. Both of those companies had on-the-job training. With the pneumatics, they would have the trainee follow the trainer in his own truck for 2 two weeks while learning how to operate the valves and monitor the pressure gauges. With the end dumps, that company had the trainee ride shotgun for a week or 2 prior to getting his own truck. The end dumps were obviously more dangerous and not something you want to turn a person loose with who hasn’t ever done it before, because they’re easy to lay over in high winds or if you’re standing it up in the dark on uneven ground in the rain, etc.Speed_Drums and Redtwin Thank this. -
When I ran the water account in so cal they had one of the guys who was running it run with me for the first few days, since you had to pump on and off yourself. I’m thinking of calling the recruiter sometime, I’m getting bored at my job running the same routes all the time. Maybe I’ll ask them about it

Those pump trucks are more smaller from the looks on kenny wayne videos

I’ve always referred to them as a “regional truck” or a “window truck.” The sleeper is a little smaller and they have a different style refrigerator is what I heard.
When they sent out the email about the new pay pay package in August, it included a form that was titled “Frequently asked questions.” One of the questions asked: “How do I move from a 58 inch sleeper to an 80 inch sleeper?”
Answer: “We are in the process of phasing out all 58 inch trucks, and are hoping to have our fleet consist of all 80 inch trucks by the end of the year.”Speed_Drums, Bobblehead, Redtwin and 1 other person Thank this. -

Most of the older pump trucks have smaller sleepers, but just yesterday I saw a big sleeper pump truck with Cordele GA on it instead of the usual Winter Haven FLTanker_82 Thanks this.
