If you’re talking about those Peterbilts that had the smoke stacks and narrow cabs, yes. Those were all gone when I hired back on in 2016.

 

My Pete has a Cummins. It’s a full size 80” not one of the small regional trucks with the window in the back. I say regional because that’s what a lot of us referred to them as.

 

I’m a firm no on wanting a Cascadia or Volvo. Lol. I do like the Cascadia cup holders better, though.

I agree these 579’s are nice. I think the older style Petes we used to have looked sharper, and I liked how the dash came up higher, but these are definitely roomier.

That stinks about your transmission. Knock on wood, mine hasn’t given me any problems yet other than having to cycle the key 5 times to reset things once or twice. I did have an alternator go out last year. I had driven across Montana at night, and when I took the exit for the Loves in Spokane I lost everything. Apparently my headlights drained everything across Montana, although they never went dim. Fortunately, I was across the street from Loves. They jumped me and had me whip it into the shop real quick to get off the road. They put an alternator on it and everything was fine afterward.
