I have a few switch blanks on the dash, but all of the gauges are there. All of the trucks I’ve had at IRT, including this one, have had an air slide 5th. I never move mine. I’ve only slid the hitch on an IRT truck once or twice since I hired on.Redtwin and CalculatedRisk Thank this.

The newest trucks with the full digital display also have to option to customize the gauges it displays.
Not sure when I will ever need to know how much torque the engine is outputting or the boost PSI of the turbo...but it's there.Rugerfan, Tanker_82 and CalculatedRisk Thank this. -
Wait until it freezes up on you. Hope you have a battery disconnect or otherwise you just have to wait and hope it fixes itself or disconnect the batteries yourself.Redtwin Thanks this.

Oh it has frozen a couple times. Turning off the truck for at least 15 mins gets it working again.
Supposedly there was a software update uploaded last time it went to the dealer as it has not frozen since then.
Can't get it to display KMH properly since the update, but I will take that over not having a working cluster at all.wulfman75, Tanker_82 and Bobblehead Thank this. -
Told our shop last time it froze up for ever and nothing but unhooking the batteries worked. Since I went home and came back I’m still having problems with it. Not crashing but yeah other things being funky on it. Sadly I got one of the last kenworths our company bought so I guess I’m stuck for a while unless I make the switch

Our shop guy told me the dash display is a computer onto itself, totally independent of any other ECUs on the truck. There is a specific cable that is hooked up to the back of the display to upload updates, it doesn't use the usual OBD socket under the dash.
Mine doesn't crash anymore, but it still doesn't work as it should. I try to get it to display KMH for when I am in Canada and it does for a while, then the display reverts to MPH...or nothing at all.
I also keep getting random "adaptive cruise control" error messages, but this truck isn't equipped with adaptive cruise. I suspect that issue also causes the cruise to act up at times.Speed_Drums and Tanker_82 Thank this. -
I know this would be a bandaid and not a permanent solution, but they have speedometer apps on iTunes you can download for when you’re running in Canada and need KMH.Speed_Drums and Redtwin Thank this.
