I've done a few of those. Only thing I like about the farm milk runs is the ability to use agricultural exemption. Helps when you need to get out of GA congestion and get to a decent truck stop.

If anyone makes a delivery to Franz Bakery in Los Angeles, I do not recommend arriving early. You will find yourself near the downtown skyline area, a half mile away from graffitied buildings, shady characters roaming the sidewalks, and nowhere to park with a locked gate that you back into from the street. If beating the morning rush hour is a concern, I would get as close as you can and hang out on a ramp or find a wide spot somewhere nearby. Fighting the rush hour will probably be the lesser of the two evils. The address and back in are easy to deal with. It’s the neighborhood and parking issue you’ll want to avoid.

Hello
I just signed up and this my first post. I’m set to attend orientation this coming week at Indian River Transport.
I’ve been running flatbed for two years OTR with Prime mostly, then the last few months with Blair Logistics.
Thanks for all of the great info in this thread.
A couple of questions for those who know.
Are the Pete’s y’all have running Cummins or Paccar? Also, having only run Cascadia I was wondering about CB mounting slots in the Pete.
Are they large enough for galaxy/Stryker radios or only Cobra 29?
I have multiple radios so I’d prefer to know which I can bring.
I’m planning to attend orientation with all my gear so a home stop wont be necessary.CalculatedRisk Thanks this. -
I thought Oakley only had Volvo tractorsTheLugNut! Thanks this.

Cummins
My uniden is a tight fit, don't know if that helps at all?
Where are you attending orientation?TheLugNut! Thanks this. -
I have a cobra and it's a tight fit. If you're careful, you can remove the plastic molding and have more working room in the compartment.TheLugNut! Thanks this.

This is what my compartment looks like with a Cobra 29. You can pull the trim off and get your forearms in behind it, but it’s a tight area. Hope it helps.Bud A. Thanks this.

I'm not sure that a big chassis radio (Stryker, General Lee, etc) will fit in there without some modifications. I have a souped up General Lee, but I never tried to install it in there as I also have a 10m export Mirage radio that was the smaller size of a Cobra 29.
