The time I ran up before I did go that way that he was explaining.

Took the long way since I probably won't even be able to deliver tomorrow and figured spending Thanksgiving at Arrowhead would be more entertaining. Cabbage hill ...... Was ..... fun with minimal visibility tonight.

On a side note, when I was parking last night as I was searching for a spot and went to back in as I was lining up I heard a loud bang . Immediately stopped. Got out to look around. There was nothing by me or even within probably 50 ft in any direction so I'm kind of dumbfounded. As I'm walking back up to the cab of the truck I noticed my hood mirror dangling by a cable. Really wasn't. Looking forward to calling in to safety and explaining and looking like an idiot, but apparently there's a recall out for them snapping,so definitely feel a whole lot better.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you guys and gals out there and your family's.

When I went home for my birthday in August, someone clipped my driver’s side hood mirror at the Pilot. They didn’t damage anything else, so I’m assuming it was a flatbed with cargo hanging off the side or maybe they opened their passenger door into it. When I returned to work, it was bent sideways and unable to be jerked back into place. The Pennsylvania shop changed it for me a few weeks later when I was in the NE.

Normally, I nose into my parking spots in order to protect the front of my truck, especially on home time. If someone backing into the spot on either side of mine hits me, I’d rather them dent the rear of the tank instead of crushing my headlights, grill, radiator, etc. It’s quicker to drop a damaged tank and bobtail somewhere for another one than it is to go to a Peterbilt dealership for front end repairs. Unfortunately, there was only one reserved spot open that night in August, and it was in an area where I had to back in and leave the front of the truck exposed.

That mirror should be an easy fix. I watched the mechanic do mine, and it was only three bolts with an impact gun. It took about five minutes to change. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too.

I think the hard to find drop lot in Fort Pierce, FL (the one behind the abandoned warehouse we were talking about a while back) is no longer in use. I brought a load here from California and had planned on slipping in at night to do my break there since it’s near the consignee address and in a low key area. I encountered a locked gate that I don’t remember seeing there before. I didn’t see any tanks inside it either. I ended up parking at the other drop lot instead. I don’t recommend it. There isn’t much room at this one. I just figured I would mention it in case anyone else had the same idea.

I'm heading to Fort Pierce too. I'm gonna stay at the turnpike plaza near there tonight since the parking is never guaranteed at the love's or pilot

They did tell me at the plant that the hard to find lot is no longer being used. I dropped my loaded tank at the lot you’ve been to where the road is under construction. There weren’t any empties there, but one of their day cab drivers told me to go to 1650 Digiorgio Road and look for one. I found an empty tank there this morning. It’s only a few miles from the lot you’ve been to and that address will get you there if the same thing happens to you.

The Loves and Pilot at the turnpike exit are always full, usually have better luck at the two newer ones a mile or so north of those on I-95. Last time I was down that way I just went further south to the weigh station and had a very quiet night there as I was heading to Miami the next morning.

BTW, anyone heading to Lakewood in Miami, we can park on a side road between their two buildings if we get there the night before. Looks kinda shady down that way, but they have an armed guard posted in the same spot. That customer also requires heavy and light weight tickets.

I'll take that over the Dacula run and fighting all the traffic from Atlanta on. ☺️ It will be nice to have a route to get PM done in Cordelle if that is the case though.
