It's yeast. Doesn't smell as nice as chocolate, especially when it gets dry and crusty.

Yeast usually goes to industrial bakeries where they make bread products like Bimbo, Sara Lee, XYZ Baking, etc

I do not believe you can haul yeast and not have some seepage as it will gas off during transport.

I opened it slowly once I heard the gas escaping. Didn't want to get sprayed with yeast.

Thankfully I rarely haul yeast and this was the first yeast load I had to open the dome.

    Hey IR drivers.

I was curious, have you seen freight slow down for your food grade tanker work?

Also, what do you think the immediate future will hold for food grade tanker in terms of freight volume?

    Thanks.

    nextgentrucker Thanks this.

Loads to Canada have slowed down, all the other stuff I run in the NE is about the same as before. I can't speak on other areas of the country as I don't run those regularly.

Products like juice, milk and yeast for bread will always be in demand even when people are broke as Food stamps and WIC etc will pay for them. Beer and wine, who knows.

I agree with @Redtwin. Food grade liquids will always be in demand. I don’t run into Canada. I run OTR, and things are steady for me.

As far my opinion on the future, I think it will stay busy. Things were consistent for me during the pandemic a few years ago, too.

I’ve seen Indian River on Instagram lately posting hiring ads so things must be picking up, or getting ready to.

What part of NE do you do? Do you like it? PA, NY, NJ? What else? I'm not ready for the Northeast...

    Friend and Redtwin Thank this.
