Also, in orientation the guy doing it said the Dust Cover come out sometimes if there's no seal in it, have that happened to you guys before? What do you guys put in it when empty to avoid that? Zip tie?

I probably passed you along the Gulf Coast going the opposite direction at some point. I left McAllen, TX Thursday night for a delivery in Florida tomorrow.

I’ve taken yeast from Memphis to HEB in Houston before. It was three or four years ago. It’s one where I had to vent the top for them and also take a temperature reading with their thermometer while I was up there.

I thought I had taken a load of dairy there, too, but your pictures didn’t look familiar. Whichever one I delivered dairy to, whether it was HEB Houston or a place in Stafford, the plant had issues and held me over all night. (pandemic year) The receiver was nice and took it upon himself to bring me a burger meal from a fast food restaurant when he came back from his break.

I’m glad to see everything worked out for you. You’re officially a tanker yanker now. Be safe in the rain if you’re coming back to Florida. It’s been pouring on me ever since I left McAllen.

A zip tie will work. Sometimes I look for a twig or something on the ground that I can wedge through the hole to keep the nut from backing off. A lot of times, there is an old seal laying around on the fender or up top that can be used. I check and retighten the nut each time I stop somewhere.

If the tank is empty I use a zip tie. That's for my peace of mind so I don't have to worry about the dust cover nut backing off and hitting a car behind me.

Supposedly some states require a seal, but I have never checked if that is the case.

Cool, don't the receiver put one in it when they're done? I've checked mine and they put two behind it.

Yes sir! I was there for about 3hrs ( that's the address:4625 Windfern Rd, Houston, TX 77041 ), when did you pass Houston? Cause I did see an IRT Truck pass me on the opposite lane, don't know if it was you or not. What are you hauling? I'm pickup a load in McAllen too ( Orange Juice), I drove all night after getting unloading, was gonna go to a truck stop after I dropped my dirty tank at this Tank wash cause I didn't wanna stay there, but the parking break on tank is bad. You know when you do a tuck test to see if the fith wheel is locked? Yeah, when I try to do that I just pull the tank with me easily with trailer parking button out, also the AbS light comes on when I press the break. The tank has service break, I test it with the trailer break lever that's in the truck, it's just the parking break. I called night dispatch and he said it shouldn't really be a problem and to take it to a Love's or TA if I'm having any trouble, what do you think? I'm taking that load to Murfreesboro, TN due Thursday the 8th and don't really want to have any delays.

Sounds like the brakes are out of adjustment.

If it’s disc brakes then that’s out of my wheelhouse but adjusting manual slack adjusters takes about 10 seconds per brake. Get a 9/16” wrench I think it is if I remember right and snug them up then do a quarter to half turn back left and they should be good. There’s no parking brake on a trailer. Only brakes in general.

Cool, thanks, I'll look and see if they're disc brakes, if it is, there's a Love's 20 minutes down road, I'll take it there when I get load tomorrow. Good thing I bought these, didn't think I would need them already lol.
