The whole state of Tennessee is beautiful and peaceful as long as you aren't in the big cities like Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville or Chattanooga. It is one of our states to visit and travel through.

Cool, when I say peaceful I'm also talking about the weather and stuff, no hurricanes, tornados or no nothing.

you can't always get what you want. I believe the Rolling Stones sing that song. You can't have it all. trust me when I say that.

Trust me from experience, you can't have that attitude. I don't know how old you are but I had those same feelings when I started my driving career. However, I have never worked for an OTR company. I have always been local company driver with an occasional overnight delivery but my hotel and meals were paid for on those deliveries. I have an O/O friend that I have known since high school. To this day, he says that I got lucky. I disagree. I worked hard and kept moving to better companies until I found the company that I retired from last year at age 60. My wife and I own a home outright in Eastvale CA that was built in 2016. We also have a home in Ontario CA that we still owe 70K on but we are renting it out. We built a retirement home in Bullhead City AZ that looks over the casinos in Laughlin NV. Of course, there's a $1500.00 a month mortgage on it. It can be done but you need to plan and set your goals. We don't have any "toys" though. Never wanted them. Both of our vehicles are paid off. I have a 2023 Ford F-250 4X4 CC diesel and my wife as a 2025 Chevy Traverse. I'm not here to brag, I'm just telling you that it can be done. Good luck to you.

Whoah! Nice! I'm 26 right now and I already feel like I'm too old to achieve my goals. Originally, I wanted to go OTR, live out on the road for 15 years, save my money, move to another state, buy some land, build a house ( pay cash for everything ) then get a local job but life happens and now I feel like I have to take the traditional route of getting mortgages and loans and stuff, that's what I meant when I said I needed to have more realistic goals.

    Knucklehead and Friend Thank this.
