To my understanding, it protects everything from the batteries forward, just like the main breaker in a household panel box. From there, you have individual circuits for everything.

I had the same problem on my truck last year. I did a Google search and somehow found out which fuse to replace and it fixed it. I was surprised. Google tends to give me nothing when it comes to truck problems, unlike with car problems.
