When I run Washington to the LA area, I always make the Corning Loves (exit 630 on 5) my stopping point when I’m going either direction. It splits the 2 driving shifts at a little over 500 miles each and that Loves has a ton of showers where I never have to wait in line. That stinks you lost part of your clock at Riverside. Did you have any luck parking there?

They have some street parking, but I decided just to stay at the Petro. Got fuel skidding have to pay. Yep. Lost about an hour and a half, plus got empty around 8am, so even the way I went, I still caught some traffic. There was room for about 6 to 7 trucks on the street.

I do it when I have to because we’re at their mercy, but it grinds my gears when places like the truck stops in Ontario or Atlanta make us pay to park or force us to spend $20 within 2 hours. Even fueling 50 gal to avoid it isn’t really coming out of a company drivers pocket it’s still insulting after we spend thousands of dollars a year on food and drinks. It’s a slap in the face. Lol

I’m not the biggest fan of it either, but like you said, a few areas we don’t have much of an option. For future reference, if you ever deliver to Riverside Creamery, you can go in before the appointment time. It said no trucks before 4am except Ralph’s trucks. I got there at 3:30. Drove up at 4 and she said, that doesn’t pertain to you guys. Lol

If I have to pay to park, I don’t make any purchases at that location. I will cook my own meals.Crusader66 and Tanker_82 Thank this.

I’ve been cooking a little bit the last few months. I have a microwave and our rigs come with a fridge. I buy that pre cooked fajita meat, shredded cheese, and tortillas. That and those pre wrapped potatoes you can nuke make a pretty good snack and healthier than fast food.Crusader66 Thanks this.

Unfortunately, i can’t make it to the wash without a 10, so I’ll sneak in around 2am and hopefully be one of the first washes. BTW, Gordy’s on US97 has awesome food. I’ve had three different meals there and have been great. Had a sirloin today. I started my low carb diet about 3 weeks ago, so I’m always looking for a great steak and veggies. Lol
