Thanks. It’s got issues. Having to replace the VGT and the Speed sensor. To start. Hopefully that fixes it. I’m in a hotel next to the dealership. Speed sensor won’t be here till tomorrow. Sounds like a team is coming to get my load in the morning.

They’ll probably hook you up with another good run once you’re out of the shop to make it up to you.

They kept me on the California run. They got me done around 1pm. Went across the street the the J. Did my pretrip and went inside and got some coffee. When I started my truck back up, I had the service light on the transmission and where it says what gear you are in, was flashing 3 codes. Went back across the street to the shop. Had it for another 2 hrs, and finally hit the road.

BTW, the Howard Johnson across the flying J to the west of Tallahassee is very nice and a good price if ever needed.

I’ve had mine flash “service” before. Little red light above the up and down arrows. It’s done it about 3 times since I got the truck in Nov. All 3 times it started flashing I was in a parked position with the brakes set. It would flash red “service” on the shifter console and a symbol appeared on the dash screen that looked like a bobtail pointing downhill.
I shut the truck off and cycled my key 5 times to clear the fault code and when I started it back up it was gone. That fixed it for me all 3 times.
I always assumed it was from a sensor thinking the tranny was low on fluid, because each time it acted up I had previously been parked at a slope. Drive tires elevated on ramps at a tank wash and another time I had been elevated on the back end while draining a load out in Nebraska. It’s just my guess. Either way, cycling the key fixed it. 3-5 weeks separated each time it happened.

When you cycle the key the 5 times you have to do it kinda quick, back to back. Then leave it in the off position for about 30-45 seconds after the 5th time. Then start it up after that 30-45 second pause. Shop guy in Florida taught me that trick over the phone last year when my previous truck broke down in Alabama.

Yep. I’ve done that trick a few times. They told me about it when I was in Texas and my air quit blowing cold air. They said it’s a common problem and by doing that trick, it’s supposed to reset the ECM.

When I first started having the issue the other day, they had me try that and it didn’t work. The Peterbilt shop looked st the transmission and didn’t see anything wrong and those codes had only popped up once, so they cleared them and sent me on my way.

Having breakfast at the Triple T truck stop. All the years I have driven, I’ve never stopped here. Not bad. Coffee was rough. Been spoiled with my coffee in the truck. Making good time considering how this trip started. I don’t deliver till 5pm tomorrow in Anaheim. That could be a interesting time to deliver. Lol

I delivered my Sioux Falls, SD Friday morning (drop/hook). I’m getting washed out in Prosser, WA right now, then loading for Riverside.
Initially I left Sioux F. and got washed in Sioux City, NE then went to Rapid City to pick up a load. It ended up being cancelled so they gave me the choice to dead head here or Ohio. I chose to go West. Been a good week. 1,310 from McAllen to Sioux Falls, then a 1,527 dead head to Prosser. It’s not even Monday and I’m sitting on 2,837 miles for this period. Nice weather going across Montana this weekend. It was in the 50s.
