    #### that sucks. Dental problems are bad enough on their own but to have it hit on the road like that is just plain cruel.

Hope you're feeling a little better, at least enough to get to the house and see your dentist.

Thanks. I'm feeling somewhat better. I've been kinda grounded due to the pain pills. Swelling is starting to go down. I've been out a month as of Tuesday so I'm still trying to get home. I'll get it pulled once I'm home.

Lol. As much pain as I was in a few nights ago I was tempted to do some lancing with my pocket knife.

Can any Florida(or Georgia) drivers comment on their lanes of travel and miles? I am curious if they would be similar to L_H's experience.

Just curious, did you get a lot of blowback from dispatch/management over the dental problems and affecting loads/planning of other drivers and the like? Obviously it was something that was out of your control but that doesn't always mean you don't catch a load of crap over it.

Not at all. It was late in the evening when I got off I-94 and went into Michigan City looking for a hospital. Once I got out of the emergency room I drove to CVS Pharmacy and called night dispatch to let him know everything. He asked how I was and told me to stay put there for awhile if CVS would let me. The following morning I drove 30 miles to the Gary Loves and sent some detailed messages over the computer just in case night dispatch didn't notify day dispatch. That's when they arranged to re-power my load. They told me to rest. This was on a Sat. That Monday safety contacted me and told me I needed to stay put for a few days due to the pain pills. On Wednesday the safety director Mark G. called me to check on me. He couldn't have been any nicer. He told me if I felt ok he would go ahead and release me to dispatch so I could get rolling. Once that happened I got patched over to Randy who also asked how I was feeling and if I was ok. I went to I-96 Tank Wash dropped and hooked and am back at it now. Loading to go to Darlington, WI as we speak. Hoping for a load towards Oklahoma so I can get my time off and have this tooth pulled.

I finally made it home yesterday around 11pm. I live in OKC, so they put me on a load from Menasha, Wisconsin to a calf ranch in Cimarron, Kansas then I dead headed home from there. I was out for 5 weeks. On the way home, Clovis dispatch called and wanted to know what was going on, so I explained to them how I had been running the Midwest and trying to get home for the last 2 weeks, the hospital visit, the grounding for 5 days in Gary, etc.. They wanted to know when I would be returning to work. I told them Saturday morning and that would give me 4 days off. I was told to call them Friday for a game plan. It's nice to be home, although my wife works Mon-Fri so it's too bad it couldn't have been on a weekend. I submitted my initial home time request on Dec 23rd to be home Dec 30th. I got home January 16th. I guess part of it is to blame on the tooth abscess and all that. Anyway, just thought I would give another update. Drive safe.
