So several internet sites went into blackout mode today to protest Congress
Wikipedia, Google, and a few others.

Their speal is the thought that Congress would sensor the internet but from what i see from it is they are protesting nothing worth protesting.

Wiki... idea is why sensor free knowledge. My thought is they are trying to keep folks from committing plagiarism and stealing from honest folks.

There are already laws on the books for that now, it's just getting someone to enforce them. The new laws are a whole 'nother mess that congress doesn't want you to know about till it's passed.

It's not congress. It would give the power to take any site offline permanently, without notice or redress, to anyone who made a complaint. This site included. It says that if you link to a site that has anything copyrighted by anyone anywhere, your site is shut down. Hell, there's two copyrighted images in this post alone. This law goes so far that even in the picture that I took myself of the truck I drive, International could take the site offline if they wanted to. Now tell me that isn't absolutely insane.
