Stay away from trainer comps, like schnieder, tmc, swift, etc every comp out there is going to tell you the same story. Awesome pay, awesome miles, awesome home time. For most part it is all horse ####, as we all know. This forum is the best place to get answers to questions, but instead of beimg lazy and taking a shortcut and asking for our opinions. Try researching and reading posts, it works! Love the flat co i finally chose and chose my co from reading posts here and making up my own #### opinion. They have never openly lied to me. Ever thing the recruiter said has been true ( said recruiter not dispatcher). I have an issue, one phone call, no more issue.
Will NEVER go back to a per mile pay scale. Yall are morons if you settle for that.

I started with Boyd and I liked it. There load securement training is great and the pay is decent for just coming out of school. They have quite a few customers in that area also. I hauled particle board into Sauder Woodworking in Archbold Ohio and picked up a back haul out of Gypsum Ohio a few different times.

I'm currently Running a Flat for Halvor lines out of Superior Wi. I'm a recent grad and they took the time to train me right. I feel pretty good here with a smallish, medium sized company with nice equipment. (375 trucks, and 800 trailers) I'm driving a '10 Cascadia and love it. We run east coast alot and some west, but go right through the 80/90 corridor quite a bit so maybe that would work for you to get home often. LIke I said I'm a rookie but feel right at home with Halvor. Just my $.02

if you have to go through a school ... I am just about to finish up RDTC through roehl transport outa marshfield wi, I am a green horn for sure never drove before . but so far everything they told me has been true and talking to guys that have driving for a while through them are happy , I will be driving flats and they are sending me to gart IN for load sucurement training . they have been very good with teaching the ins and outs for us newbies and they do have a special class just for guys who have there CDL but have not driven in a while or that dont have experience . they have been very good to me so far and I cant wait to be on the road with them. only two more weeks. there trucks are in really nice shape and they have gotten new trailers for flats and vans ... AND reefers . even the trainer trucks < 07 columias> are in good repair . and if something has gone wrong < my trainer truck had a air leak > it was fixed overnight .. I have been impressed with there safety , and there work ethics . again Just my 2 cents .. and from a newbie at that
lol hope you find what your looking for !

I myself learn from doing .. not reading a book.. and there has been little class time most has been hands on .. and I like ..friday I will be done with school .. got my cdl friday of last week. .
