Hey everyone -
Reaching out to all of you who have the knowledge I am seeking. I’ve been a CDL holder since 2012. I drove from 12-14. I went into law enforcement in 2014. I’ve been in that field since. I haven’t driven a single truck since then. I am tired of LE and I want to go into the trucking industry. I’ve maintained my CDL, medical card is current. Always kept it in my back pocket. It is tough being in LE anywhere, especially here in Chicago. I’ve reached out to KLLM- they have a 9 day refresher course. Anything else out there worth looking into? I know Chicago has lots of opportunities for drivers, it’s just a matter of having the experience. Thanks everyone.
Inexperienced driver

If KLLM will hire you, I'd go there. Good outfit to get started with.

XPO in Bridgeview off Harlem Ave, use to have a new driver training deal where you would work the dock while being trained to drive...
Believe ABF freight had a similar program, they have a huge terminal off 394 in Chicago heights and I think Aurora as well...
Both of them are LTL companies.
The current freight market isn't that great so not sure if they are currently offering those programs but it's worth looking into.
