Hi guys, I've never haul tanker. So, if the Schneider recruiter says they'd give me 47 c/m and my yearly gross would be "$60-65 000" how far is it from real? Reading your posts here with all that sitting, etc. it really gets me scared :biggrin_25517: I used to run hard hauling dry van and reefer... So Schneider recruiter says "Dry van yearly average $50-55000/yr and Tanker $60-65000 how far is it from real?
Also what exactly are those exercises they want us to get thru at physical? If I'm a 58 yr old guy should I be worried that I might not pass because of that heart beating rate they use? By the way, is there heavy lifting involved with this job?

While waiting unloading dry van or reefer I could take a breakfast. Could I do it with the tanker?

I've heard about overnight driving for some tanker loads- being OTR is some overnight work required?

I'd like sometimes request a hometime in Ocala Fl to see my relative- Is it possible? Do they go that way or only Jacksonville? Oh I see you wrote about Tampa, so I guess it wouldn't be a problem to request a hometime in Ocala...

Emergency situations driving: hauling a dry van on snowy road you feel it's starting pull over to one side you can countersteer and to fix it. From my understanding you can't do exactly the same with a loaded tanker- so what do you do in cituation like this?
Say, you haul gasoline- when you sitting in your sleeper bunk do you feel the smell?
If hired I'd be out of Keasbey, NJ.
And if somebody would write pros and cons dry van vs tanker it would be interesting. Thank you in advance

I have seen that very thing written about on this forum, but at the moment, I cannot remember if it was in the Tanker sub-forum or the SNI sub-forum. I also do not remember if it was specific to SNI or if the comparison was in general, not directly related to SNI.

Dang, I thought I would be helpful, but it turns out, I gotta lot of nothing for you.

Well I can't lie so I am not sure if the money is true, yes there is some heavy lifting cause hoses weight a good amount especially if they still have some product in them, the breakfast thing during unloading it all depends if customer is unloading or you. Regarding home time if you request they send you wherever they have you park the truck honestly. The winter thing idk I started in May driving by myself no winter yet, but regarding the gasoline, we don't haul gasoline at all in Schneider. Also you wouldn't be out of Keasby because your in FL, you might be Savannah, Ga or Reserve, La not sure because honestly I live in Atlanta, Ga and I am based out of Reserve, La.
