    Thank you for your fast responce. I live in NY city area, but my son is in Ocala FL, so I'd be out of Keasbey, NJ , but asking DP every once in a while to have a hometime in Ocala, Fl, that's what I meant. Also, since I've been out of trucking for over 7 years could you tell me please-
    What is IC ?
    What is line 5 ?
    How come they let you guys take 34 hrs reset almost any time if FMCSA specifies that it could be done only after 168 hrs passed since your last reset started? Or that 2013 requlation isn't good anymore (although it looks stupid)? But it's still on FMCSA Website as current one...

    IC = Independent Contractor

    Line 5 = Personal Conveyance (allowing you to drive off-duty, don't think it is available to Company Drivers)

    To the best of my knowledge, 168 consecutive hours must have past since the beginning of the previous restart. After that, you are free to take a restart anytime you want or need.

    Well it's still right just saying basically every 7 days you can have a 34 hour reset, also IC means Independent Contractor basically Owner Operator, also line 5 is only for IC no company drivers but line 5 is off duty driving, basically for personal driving. But Schneider policy is if your dispatched to a load or under a trailer you can't do line 5, basically if an IC is going home with his truck it means he can do line 5 and go home without using his 70

    I thought you've meant line 5 of a logbook in Oil filed operations, in that case driver doesn't have to be IC

    That is the exact phrase I enter on the E-Log for the 30 minute break. The king was not directly responsible for it, but it happened under his watch. Had it happened during the previous administration, I would have called it my "Bush Break", although a person could get very creative with that....

    Yeah that policy is a little restrictive and they should take a look at it if they want to retain drivers. I used line 5 this week. I had a trailer rejected and had to get it washed out. My load appointment was changed to the next morning. I dropped my trailer at the tank wash, bob tailed to a restaurant on line 5 for dinner, and then went to our terminal where I had shower facilities for the night. The next morning I grabbed my trailer from the tank wash and went to load. It was about 45 minutes of driving that didn't count against my 70. I also ran out my 14 at dinner so without line 5, I would have been stuck at the tank wash eating out of my cooler and not had a shower to start my day in the morning.
