Quick story:
I'm going through old papers that have accumulated over the last year+ and came across the paperwork from my first load. I had to move a dirty trailer from cory to the Chicago quala. No biggie, but it was placarded and no paperwork left with the trailer. And of course it was a Sunday dispatch, so get to call into "C" squad over at extended. I tell them "I need the bills before I can move trailer xyz. Fax them to Cory OC."
"I'm sorry driver, but I can't do that. The Cory OC is closed on weekends."
"They have a training class, they are open. I'm standing in front of the fax machine as we speak (I really was)."
"Um...I don't so. They close on the weekends..."
This goes back and forth twice more believe it or not.
About two hours later I finally get the fax, only instead of the BOL I get the actual bill to the consignee. I did say I needed the bill lol. It had all the info I needed so I was good to go. But the real kicker was I got to see what THEY charge the customer:
$4.51 per mi linehaul
$0.95 per mi fsc
Total with accesory came out to $1876.56 (it was a short haul and did not include the Cory to Chi movement).harlycharly55, acouplyr and realsupatrucka Thank this. -
Exactly....I tell drivers all the time to call and act like you a shipper and get a quote...they are raping us o/o out of a bunch of money
