Inflation Hits 7.5%, Highest in 40 years

Alot of folks have money left from being paid to stay home. Plus they didn't have to pay for rent or food. Also got the stimulus checks. So they quit their jobs enmasse and stayed home. Or lost their jobs and never went to replace it.....because of said govt funds. Alot of younger folks moved back in with their folks and are happy on the couch during the day.

 

That doesnt capture unemployment #s, have to be actively seeking work to be counted there

Exactly. If you are going to get paid not to work. It would be foolish to work. Especially if the govt is paying more than whatever crap job you had before. Because folks with good careers and 6 figure salaries aren't walking away from them.
