No, they won't make you drive if you are sick. But if you are sick for all Northeast loads, they will see a trend. The person that sees the trend decides this driver is making my job tougher. The miles go down, the driver _itches in here, eventually quits, finds the same at the next company, decides all companies suck, and thanks you for the good advice.
In reality, take the good with the bad like Taino said. Make the manager's job easier and you will get the miles. Its that simple.

hope you like hauling hazmat and going to canada because you will see alot of that, they will run you to death good luck because you will need it with this anal company
-
Hope you like being Micro managed! Not getting 70 hr reset on your hrs. Pushing to the very last min avail. Been here since 10/2012 leaving myself soon. Been driving for 18 yrs..... Never seen the likes, yes, if you have Hazmat you will run! They do pay premium for north east and Hazmat! Not the company I thought they were..... Not been near the Canada border yet

Can someone explain the idle policy? I'm considering a move from the midwest to the southwest and Conway looks like one of my better choices. I've had an apu for the last 6+ years so its a concern. Do you have bunk heaters at least? I'd hate to idle at 40- 45 degrees but that would get chilly quick I'd appreciate any info you guys could give and what you think about the Tucson area for being based out off. Thanks
-
You're not supposed to idle for extended periods of time between 20F & 70F. There are bunk heaters & they do a fine job keeping the sleeper warm at 20* with the curtains closed... You're also supposed to meet a mpg target (I think 6.5) so if you are idling a lot in a particular month, you probably want to lower your cruising speed to 62 or 60 to compensate.
There were two guys from Tuscon at my orientation, last I heard they both were doing fine with con-way. Orientation would probably be in Phoenix for you...trkrjim Thanks this. -
...anyone been to (or know someone who has)
the A1 Truck Driving/Conway school in
Fremont CA? Buddy and I are thinking about
team driving after training there. -
...ignorant question. ..but is my post
in small print bc I'm posting from a phone?
How do I change it? -
I have to admit ConWay Truckload is in the #1 spot on my list of potential companies to work for. I can take the bad with the good. That's everywhere you go. So here's my rookie question and I ask because I've never been and see many negative posts about it. What's the big deal with going into Canada?
quetzalcoatl Thanks this.
