With my Mio brand i have POI can do a fly over of the route, avoid roads i dont want to go down/across, it can magnify down to street level or just get a sat. view it calls out the upcoming streets and turns before you reach them so i can do a proper set up.

i can do a overview of the route to see where is is goint to take me before i even start off, from the itenariary feature.

i really like this gps that the wifey got me for christmas, best money spent.
it saves me so much in x, and stress is way down from not making or making wrong turns.:yes2557:

That would be nice. The Tomtom 510 doesn't offer this feature. Just an alternate route feature. But forget that, cause it will send you hundreds of miles out of your way. :biggrin_25513:

Either one....I'm just shopping around and wanted to get more advice before I bought anything.......I'd like to go the cheapest route possible for now......which probably means not going with a laptop.

Thank you everybody for the replies. I'm fixing to buy a Garmin tomorrow. Just not sure wether will pick 260 or 350. They seem very similar and speak the name of the street, which I like. Garmin 330 doesn't speak the names of the streets. My only doubt is about the acquisition times, satellite speeds. Couldn’t find any info on 260. I know that 350 has 20 channels satellite receiver and 260 seems to have 12 channels, so it’s still high-sensitivity, as they call. None have dead reckoning. I read good and bad reviews on both. Can anybody share some opinion on Garmin 260 and its performance? Thx.

The difference between the 330 and the 340 is the speaking of the street names.
