forgot to mention how they told dispatch that flatbed operations was coming to an end. on monday after thanksgiving, they came into work and were fired on the spot. no sevrents pay, no two week notice. nothing. come back to work after the holiday and you're walking in with your coffee, had a good time with the family. come in my office, we got to talk. your fired! nice family, go ahead, give them a call. i'm not worried, they'll get theirs. you can't treat people like that, it'll come around.

I'm here. Company. Reefer. So far, so good.

Haven't seen much on this thread since March. I am signing on with them to pull dry van. I am hearing good and bad. Of course that is always the case with any trucking company. I am supposed to be home on the weekends, I hope they stick to their word. Overall what you say about them. Are they as bad as Hunt or Schneider? I am just getting back into the trucking industry so I don't want to sign on with an awful company.

I've been home 5 straight weekends so far.

does j&r schugal run autoshift transmissions in there trucks? and do there internationals have dbl bunks?..the reason i ask that is becuz my dad is thinking about driving for them an i travel with my dad an i like to have my own bunk.

Keep talking to the drivers, I can point you to 3 drivers within 20 miles of me that got screwed by them. 1 lease truck, 2 company drivers.
Thats all I'll say, I let people make their own decisions. -
still feeling it, left there in jan 2010. still trying to climb out of the hole they put me in. plus their safestat score is like 97. go for it. they'll be black boxed before you know it

My buddy told me last night;
They have an ex-State Trooper for a Safety guy and he is always cussing out drivers, screaming in drivers faces, rude and walks around like he's the CEO himself. Nothing like pissing off a driver and sending him down the road.
They will send you to the Northwest in the winter with NO TIRE CHAINS, not that I would use them but come on,,,,Really?! I wouldn't send any truck to the NW without tire chains, thats just rediculous.
Take your truck in for a PM you might get it back in 2 days if you're lucky, and 1/2 the write-ups you write would be ignored.
Trucks are set to idle for 1 minute then shut down because they have APU packs. Thats fine until the APU goes down in the middle of winter and from what he is telling me, it has happened. They made the driver go from WY back to MN in the winter to get it repaired. Yea, how much sleep did that driver get?
To top it all off, if you get snowed in and you are late on a load, service failure!
In addition to safety or lack of, he is still playing catch-up on his house mortgage.
It just don't seem to me the company gives a crap about safety or their drivers.
Do I trust what this guy is telling me? I'll put to you this way, this is the only driver in the world I have teamed with and that I will sleep soundly in the bunk when he is behind the wheel.
Only a trucker knows what kind of trust that takes! -
oh ya, copy that. 2 years ago during DOT week. told them i didn't have the hours to make a delivery, told me to pick it up anyway. next day told them i had 4 hours to drive with only 3 hours to do it. they had a fit, told me to get after it cuz the customer was pissed. didn't care one bit about me or my cdl.

well i talked to this company several times about driving for them. i have over 14 years out here. and the pay scale sucks, told me one time that i was going to be home every weekend and the next it was two weeks out, then they told me that i had to go out with another guy for a few weeks because i ran a local spot for a few years. I have a million miles. i should not have to be trained again.....but if i leased a truck they would let me run alone. now what part of that makes sense. well if you are or will be driving for them good luck.
