All depends. There is no set hours. There are a lot of ISX's that were loosing cams and rockers in the 700,000 to 800,000 range. There was a problem addressed by a Cummins TSB that said the rockers were not allowing proper lube to get between the cam lobe and the rocker. Whether or not it happens to everyone, they just have to wait and find out. Other than that, the ISX should go the distance before opening up the engine for any major repair. No reason it can't do well way out beyond 1 million miles.

Funny. Cat never used EGR on their engines.

Caterpillar does have a egr system on their epa 07 acert engines, but the decided to call it CGI, I guess to help market it against the engines it was competing eith.

Yes, it stands for clean gas induction meaning it pulls exhaust after it goes thru the filter. The system stays a lot cleaner than the EGR engines.

    I have a 03 mbl c12 628k miles, has blowby but it doesn't complain.

c12s have head gasket And water pump problems. But I've read that if you get a mbl c12 they ain't got the problems like the old ones.
