Why didn't they know that before the execution? I say they use a firing squad. Not for nothing, but why are they going to such extreme lengths to not cause him pain? Given his crime I'd approve death by porcupine quills and gator bites.

    Get a rope.

Sheesh you women are so violent!

The supreme court says that according to our constitution we can not use cruel and unusual punishment. No matter what. Now me? I say if a feller rapes......whack his mrhappy off with a blunt ax.

A guy down in Houston years ago raped a little girl and the father went....beat him up and castrated him. He got off on some plea like temporary insanity.

    I digress.

Let me ask this: could you sit on a jury and find a person guilty knowing it was a capital offense and he/she would get the death penalty? could you do it?

Stone him to death..rocks are cheaper. For that matter tie him naked somewhere pour something sweet one him and let the bugs have him.

    Asked by Texas-Nana
My husband and I have actually talked about this....and honestly I dont know. After reading about so many people who have been set free after YEARS of being on death row or just locked up because someone finally did the right testing of evidence or finally told the truth I just dont know.

How awful it would be to make the judgement and then find out they were not guilty.....BUT then there is also the issue of why should we the tax payers be paying for these people who are guilty of such horrible crimes?.....I am the type who would rather be to cautious I guess......I just dont know.

If there was absolutely no doubt about his/her guilt, I could do it in a heartbeat. I'd have to be sure that there was no way that you could be innocent...DNA for example.
As far as the "cruel and unusual" point, I think we should show as much compassion for the convict as they showed for the victims. In this case, I'm sure that guy wasgentle and compassionate while he was raping and murdering that teenage girl, so why shouldn't we return him the favor?

Please make no mistake I'm not criticizing....I merely asking. It's a question I've had to ask myself.

    Thanks for answering.

I think I could do it. Be on the jury where the death penalty is a possibilty.

Yes. I would, if the guilt was proven. But then I believe that we should just pts everyone in jail for life with no parole anyway...
