Has anyone tried waxing the windshield? I would think it would do at least as good a job as rain-x, probably better, and last longer.Phoenix Heavy Haul and Lite bug Thank this.

No matter what you do, within 5 miles of cleaning a big ol waxy bug will hit directly in your line of sight. I suggest get over it and hang your arm out the window like you’re supposed to.

Dawn wash soap buy your own brush and bucket use the water at the fuel island and buy a squeeze to clean after agitating with the Brush

I carry a bottle of dawn dish soap add it to the windshield bucket at the truckstop, I also carry my own squeege on a stick and a 5: brush that will screw on the same handle. works for me and has for many years.SoulScream84 and tscottme Thank this.

The reason bugs are so hard to get off the windshield is that the airflow dries them out.
It’s like when food dries on dirty dishes and its very hard to scrape off.
You have to let the windshield remain wet for a while before attempting to scrape them off. This is best done when you shut down for the day.tscottme Thanks this. -
