Because that’s just how this city works

They did the inspection at the scale, found a tire at 80 psi and gave her a OSS and told her to go back to town and get it fixed.

    *facepalm*

2 years ago. Her income to breaking sheet ratio is low so I have to keep her around. Plus she doesn’t baitch and can outwork any guy I have had or will probably ever have.

They also randomly pull some DOT numbers up and hit the ISS score like a lottery according to prepass. My first month actually driving under my authourity I got an email from prepass saying my ISS score had recently been updated by DOT. I’m like what, II had literally delivered 1 or 2 loads at that point with the state of Texas. So I called prepass and they said my dot number was randomly chosen which made it 100% likely to be pulled in /redlighted at all scales. That random BS would last 30 days then go back to normal.

Sure enough, 30 days later my score was back to normal. I rarely get redlighted and have been inspected twice with no discrepancies.

Here is what prepass sent. Talk about a crap way to get started out lolol. Made it sound like I had done something wrong. 8B09CFFE-5A56-4E04-9795-22490C82BAF8.jpeg

Wait, what??? It's not "flat" until it's at 50% rated psi. You should make trouble for them. I mean make it a personal hobby. Get a F'n lawyer and get those corrupt ######## involved. Jesus Christ do I hate the cartel.

They mess with you, you mess with them. These people aren't invulnerable. Quit acting like a trucker and start acting like an oilfield worker.

Scale bloke in Utah once explained to me that some shady companies would get one or two trucks in good order then get them repeatedly tested to up the fleet score, and hopefully divert attention from the rest of the dogs. Don't know if it was true or not but he believed it.

I blame this discussion for breaking my dry spell. I caught a clean level 2 at the Coloma WI scale this afternoon. Unsure if the inspector was razzle-dazzled by my new, meticulously routed and secured trailer air brake lines, or the two much more target rich trucks that got pulled in after I did. This new zero in the average ought to put my ISS score back in the "bypass unless parts are falling off" category a while.

Relevance to the original, embedded quote? This weigh station is the first I've seen in WI that does not have Prepass equipment. If the short sign is lit, everybody goes in. Prepass didn't have anything to do with it. Although I'm sure there was a camera that scanned my plate or DOT number and popped a red flag from the ISS score anyway.
