Again the blind leading the blind here..... For those who wish to obtain their FMCSA Authority, run safely and in compliance, I would suggest doing the exact opposite than what is espoused in this thread.
Ignorance won't save you, as a trucking co. need 6 months of logs on file. But, logs are also verification of miles for IRS, and considered legal documents. So is double edge sword, which audit to be without? IRS. . .FMCS? After any DOT reportable accident expect a DOT review of the logs and your safety dept review. The scale house log check can include BOLS, toll receipts, fuel receipts, and mileage/average speed checks. With modern software it is quite easy to do a fairly tight check of a log.
Yes, but you're not required to carry any quantity of those things except the BOL for the current load. I actually don't even always get one from the farmers, just an unload number to give the receiver.
I can tell you what they will say and it's that ignorance is no excuse. You are supposed to know the rules before you start doing the job. Not trying to bust your ***** but I've seen my share of them coming in to look at paperwork and logs and ignorance is not bliss. LOL
The above statement has just proven how little you know about running compliant..... I will throw you a bone.... You need to have your previous 7 days logs and current day with you for inspection..... I predict that you will be out of business in 6 months after reading this whole thread.
Wow, I think this is a record. In only 12 total posts on the forum, BCT has already managed to be considered an honorary member.
Thanks. I mentioned you need 8 days of logs. It was a question of BOL's and fuel receipts to match up the the logs at a scalehouse.
come on now where's the Love.im sure it will all work out in the end.at least these guys are giving it a shot....Walt
