You don't need health and dental to run legal. I think you have to offer it if you employ more than 3 people? Someone may correct me. But even then you can 10-99.

The spot rates off of the boards are in the toilet and will continue to be there until a few big carriers go out of business or do some major consolidation. It doesn't matter which board- DAT, 360, Internet Truckstop, Get Loaded- the rates are all about the same.
Good brokers with good freight and rates usually call a list of their favorite carriers and O/O first to offer their loads to them. Right now, good brokers with a long term vision are using their good freight to build loyalty with good carriers, so when trucks are tight, they can still move their freight. Bad brokers with cheap freight throw their freight to the masses on the boards.
Also, a good broker will only put their freight out for the world to see as a last resort. Think about it, by posting a load, a broker is telling the world where to look for shippers and about what your rate to the shipper is. That broker is just begging to lose that acocunt. So it must be a cheap account, not really worth holding on to. If I see a load posted out of my home area, I can usually figure out at least which shipper it is coming from, just from the posting information.PharmPhail, Baack and 1989 Pete Thank this. -
i've never done it but have watched first hand the frameless dumps the guys i watch just let the trailer pull the truck back as it raises with the truck idling. i can tell you to be careful when its freezing weather as dirt and rock can freeze in the bed and watch the wind speed and direction and try to be on level ground
PharmPhail Thanks this.
