    MM When you go through Effingham don't get stuck and need a wrecker. They are expesive in Effingham just ask Pharm.

    That was a good guess, you were right, at least partially. I still don't know what the heck is going on or happened, it's kind of a long story that may still be unresolved.

    The next day I took it to that shop at the Pilot property. Paid $73 more dollars to be told I had to take it to Peterbilt. Everything under the hood checked out but there was no power to the switch in the cab. He tried to run a new fused wire but it got hot and blew the inline fuse.

    The next day (yesterday) I went to Peterbilt. They called me down from the driver's lounge and said it needed a pressure switch but that they didn't have one. Said they could run a hot to it but I'd have to cycle it myself. I said fine and they went to do that. I snoozed for another half hour and they called me down again. The mechanic said it's bad news, the pressure is spiked and I have a clog. They said I needed a new condenser and evaporator at minimum, $650 just for parts and possibly $1500-$1600 for the job. On the spot they asked if I authorized it. I said no ##### way but I was really bummed. I was collecting invoices and paying bills and not getting anything at all.

    So here's the weird part. I pay them $118 and on my way. I get in the truck and pull around to go pick up my trailer. I notice it's blowing freezing air! At this point I'm perplexed and I call back. I ask why it's blowing cold? The guy paused for a moment like possibly stumped. Said, yeah I guess it will but the pressure is probably ungodly. Said it won't last long??? So I ask, well you're about to charge me 2k for a completely new A/C, is there any down side to using it?? He says no and see you later.

    So at that point I accepted I was on borrowed time but at least I wasn't sweating. But everyone I've spoken to since then says well if it's blowing cold, it's certainly not clogged. Makes sense to me.

    SO is it a ticking time-bomb or did a Rush Peterbilt REALLY just try to screw me out of thousands???

    Opinions welcome!

    p.s. I idled at full blast last night and never shut it off for 11 hours, was still working great when I got up.

    the pressure is ungodly high because you put two cans of freon in it when it didn't need it. Just open the port on the line and bleed off some of it.

    when you bought the freon did you buy just the hose that connects to the can or did you buy the gauge set?

    if you have gauges bleed it of untill you get the low pressure side down. I think crow said no more then 50 pounds. If you bought the hose with no gaiges just slip it over the fitting but don't have the other end connected to the can. it will bleed off pressure. carefull, it's cold. I can't tell you how much to bleed off if you don't have the gauge but two cans is a considerable amount.

    Oh, and at those pressures it will blow out the compressor in time so you do want to get it out of there. The cheap gauge set s like $25 at walmart. allot cheaper then a new compressor

    They bled it completely and refilled it. Said he put in maybe half-pound over. They were saying the high side is supposed to ramp up to pressure slowly when you turn it on, but it was spiked right away. This is how they concluded I had a clog. I really don't know what to believe. But, yeah, the freon I put in is long gone. Complete waste of $36.

    The cans I bought looked like fix-a-flat, just had a cheap plastic hose attached to the can of freon.

    But what do you think about their condensor-evaporator story?
