$250+ switches is one reason why I would never own an aero pete or anything else that has proprietary automotive components.

That RED OVAL on the truck means everything is expensive!! :biggrin_25525: Know this from experience as the Hubby has a 379 Peterbrick. :biggrin_25523:

I would almost bet that 387 has the same wiper controls as a 379 of that same year model.

What kind of truck do you have that has univeral fit parts? :biggrin_2554:

I'm sure I could have his wipers working with a simple on-off switch, but why buy a Peterbilt if your looking for cheap junk.
You could just buy that kind of truck to start with.

Instead of editing my last post I'll just add this in a new one. :biggrin_25517:

I have mixed emotions on newer technology. My personal vehicle is an 08 F250 Superduty with a powerstroke diesel, when it breaks down I won't attempt to fix it, as its to high tech for me.

On the other hand I make my living with a 20 year old truck, with a 25 year old truck on standby, because there isn't anything going to happen to them I can't fix myself. Technology and comfort is a good thing, but not at the expense of reliability. Electronics are cool and can be used to control many mechanical things, but as time goes by and they are exposed to the all the harsh conditions of dragging heavy loads over beat up highways, chemicals used in the winter, guess what usually fails the most on all trucks.

Since the early 90's the EPA has had there nose in truck design bigtime, resulting in tighter emission standards by way of electronics, which are much more complicated to break into or work on for that matter... Computer codes vs. sealed governor on fuel pump.

I like old Petes and KW's, and they break down to you just don't need a puter to fix em.

I drive a Pete 359 with the corvette dash. There isn't an official peterbilt electrical switch on it that I couldn't find the equivalent of at an autozone or such for under 15 bucks.

For me, I don't undestand why people think Pete's are so classy, I bought mine because it was stone simple to repair and was a bargain on the used resale market. I guess Peterbilt just has a good marketing department or something.

Their simple design and style are what gives them class. The only other truck to challenge the cool look of a 359 in my opinion is the W900 A.
If either one is in good condition, all you need to do is look at it to see why it has class, and if you're still not sure then drive it. :yes2557:

    No I didn't "participate".

However, I got into a bad habit of not participating in the DOT logbook system.

Got a "no record of duty status" citation.

$185. Have to say I'd pay $100 a month just to not have to do it lol.

I hate the ding on the authority though.
