Well, Mr. Mystery Mechanic, Do you have a name and a location? Some of us may want to actually pay you fairly for your services sometime. I, for one, run in and out of Atlanta regularly and actually live about 120 miles northwest of Atlanta. I've always been of the opinion that an owner operator's network of QUALITY service providers can never be too big. I am sitting in Braselton right now, as a matter of fact, taking my ten hour break. When I wake up this afternoon, I am heading to Cartersville to load and head back north. I have a couple of minor items needing attention and would be willing to patronize your shop seeing as how you appear to be a standup feller.

I also know that another respected member of this forum has grown quite tired of his normal mechanic and may or may not be looking for another. He lives just north of Atlanta.

So, Mr. Mystery Mechanic, come out of the shadows and let some of us reward your good deeds.

I occasionally can afford it. lol but i'm so terminally cheap that its like beating my head against a brick wall when I think of paying somone else to do a job I am fully capable of doing and can usually do a better job of.

Although i do know my place and I know when to take something to be done. There is alot to be said for having someone else to blame when it's wrong

When I know exactly what is wrong, I can change parts, but I'm not much of a diagnostician(as you already knew.lol). Fact is, I got three mechanics that I trust to do a good job and that charge a very fair rate. When I can, I have one of them do my repairs. If I couldn't visit one of them, I try my darndest to fix it myself before resorting to taking it to a T/A or worse yet, a dealership. I'm pretty much right there with ya on the "being cheap" thing.
