How's $50 said and done sound???
But wait, before you figure you all should have my kind of luck, I did lose my muffler coming into AL.
It sounds both cool and expensive.
Can't win 'em all I guess.
Aside from that my nerves are shot! Those directions were excellent, but at night and trying to stay on the same road as it takes lefts and rights through town was enough to fry me. Plus there's like 3 of each one, each having 2 to 3 names... there's 62, 62 bypass, 62 truck... I'm completely frazzled!
Something about being fully loaded that makes it worse. When I deadheaded that second day from Dublin to Augusta, I was actually bobbing to the music and starting to enjoy myself. Today was like the first day all over again ugh... -
not saying you wont have those days but it def gets better..
i still fill like ripping somebodys head off quite occasionally -
i glad it wasn't worse did you lose the muffler on the road as in it fell all the way off? or did it just come loose?

The stack is gone. Elbow is still there, that's it.

dam thats bad luck i guess it equaled out the good luck on the 50.00 repair bill, though
good luck tomorow -
Also scratched my bumper up on a concrete pillar in another comedic snarl-up today. They gave directions to go around the back and into the bay on the right. It looked tight but I figured well it's made for trucks they do this all day long, so as long as I turn as wide as possible it will work. Well it didn't, the trailer wouldn't straighten out in time and I had to adjust a dozen times.
Turns out I was supposed to go to the back, turn LEFT, and back upinto the bay. No one was around to correct me, but the plus is no one got a good laugh at my expense either lol.

I watched the guy back one in there one dayone shotjust like butter baby! I can back a wagon... but that was impressive.PharmPhail Thanks this. -
hey Pharm, I was just checking in on ya, sounds like you're doing ok. Take a walk in to see where they're sending you, a lot of times you will just "see" what you need to do. Some shippers may get impatient but remember, it's not their truck getting torn up! I was wondering, are you keeping track of State lines and such? I like to write down all my odom in a steno pad. I also note odom of scale crossings and the time. Other notes I like to have are fuel stops, break downs, loading or unloading. All these things can help with your log book. Sometimes you can make mistakes and need to go back and correct them. As a new company you will get an audit and the "times" on things like BOLs ,repair bills and in some States time of scale crossing need to match your log book. It sounds like you're getting some good advice from some old timers over the phone, thats good. The wife and I are rootin' for ya. An old guy once told me "you can be over cautious a thousand times, you can only be over reckless once."
PharmPhail and Baack Thank this.
