I HAVE to get a handle on my paperwork today, so stay tuned, I should have some numbers for you later today. I've run 9 loads and not billed for a single one of them yet! I only have to be 2 hours away by 6am tomorrow, so there's no excuse!

Ok my fuel mileage for the entire week including idleing and deadheads, mountains and flat is 6.3 mpg. I guess that's ok considering I ALWAYS pull 79.5k +/-

Pharm,
Do you have a cover of some sorts for that trailer? How do you keep that stuff from getting wet in the rain?
I enjoyed the videos, thanks for taking the time to do that. I am entering my 4th week of school. We have our "final" Thursday night...off Friday...and start the road/range Saturday morning.
Best of luck to ya.

Yes, there is a roller tarp. I am very pleased with how simple the system is. It takes two hands so I haven't figured a good way to film it yet but it only takes literally 5 seconds to cover the load.
Congrats on almost finishing there! It's not too bad. Just don't switch gears on the tracks and practice your pre-trip. Also, you lose a point for a pull-up when backing, so even if you tip a cone, keep going back and finish.. you can't get a point back and can only lose more. It's a silly system but you can work it. -
I figured it had to have something to prevent a nice soupy mess in hard rain. The places you unload at seem pretty interesting. I would have had to go check out some of those railroad cars.
Thanks for the words of encouragement regarding school. Aside from the one guy in class who is an absolute knuckle head, we all get along pretty well. I guess there is one in every crowd....LOL.

thats good fuel mileage for a weeks average

thanks for the confirmation. I should add that my primary speed is 63-64 mph. I was actually a tad disappointed because the dash computer usually has me at 7.8 to 8.2 when running flat. I guess all that in-town and mountain driving really takes it's toll. I hate using that engine brake coming down a mountain I put all that fuel into and not getting the full advantage of the ride down. It works out pretty well though at my speed in the 70's since I have that extra pick-up speed to work with.... really 5 or 6 under whatever the posted limit is works well.

Another vid... and some proof for ampmWayne...

If it's not down too far, you can just add that canned air like you use to clean your computer keyboard. Pour it in real fast though so the rest of the air doesn't escape.
PharmPhail Thanks this. -
So my emergency air line (the red one) snapped off the glad hand this morning pulling into a shipper. Honestly I don't know why they bother giving you a backup line if you can lose all your air out of just the one!
Anyway, 2 hours of waiting for a shop to open and set back $52. I also gained some valuable experience in embarrassing myself in front of a circle of good ole boys who all apparently carry monkey wrenches in their back pockets. They thought my little blue adjustable was cute.. however worthless.
note to self: go back to Lowe's again... get TWO of everything!
