the other line isn't a backup line phill. I am hoping thats a joke but I stoped expecing much from people years ago One supplies air to release the parking brakes when you push the trailer valve in. the other one supplies air to operate the brakes when you put your fot on the pedal..... Always carry extra fittings for your air lines as the crush sleeve is often not reusable.and also those plastic curly lines suck. spend the money on a good set of rubber lines
I agree with MedicineMan completely.. Those curly lines suck.. Get some 3/8" rubber air hoses.. Those kick #####..
yeah, no don't expect. I'll only know about these things as they come up at least once. What's confusing is one is called the service line and the other the emergency line. Seems to imply a backup. Thanks for the explanation. Will do... I just don't want to buy these things at a truck stop, I figure they are gouging us. Is there a better place? I guess I did get the plastic curly ones. It's shorter than whatever was on there before. Definitely next time. We'll see how long this lasts and I have a backup now since it was a 2-piece set.
hey buddy i just finished reading this thread in 2 sittings my ##### is numb now thanx lol j/k glad to hear ur doing good and and sweet truck i just comment on ur video a couple of hours ago and again sweet truck
Pharm You can get stuff like that at fleet-pride Also some of the better (larger) napa stores will stock them. Your right about high prices at truck stops. Kinda like a c-store and a loaf of bread after the big store has closed. YOU WANT IT-THEY GOT IT-YOU PAY WHAT THEY WANT TO CHARGE. rag
if you have truck pro around you they are usually as cheap as anywhere you'll find. those good lines are not cheap though I don't use the eergency and service wording. I call them supply and service. it's the old school terminology that I learned. somewhere along the line they started calling it the emergency line. probably when they started putting perking (emergency) spring brakes on trailers. since the line supplies air to the trailer to release the emergency spring brakes
its amazing in just 3-4 short months u go from just an idea to being an owner op with no experience in a bad economy and u seem to be on a decent start i know it was no easy task but it just leads me in to thinking, if he can do it why cant i? I' m not going to jump in to anything, dont worry. i'm just gonna do what u did and measure out all my options and research, research, and research some more. I can't speak for everyone on here that is new or even old, but I would just like to say thank u for giving some of us lil guys hope. I still look forward to seeing ur updates so keep em commin thanx man be safe out there
