20 year old DUI isn't a problem. it's not even on your manifest. I have a 15 year old one and have stayed employed for the last 14 years driving.

the reckless driving is only one offense so if there isn't anything else I don't see a problem other then the market for drivers jobs just flat out sucking right now

    Good to go!

Looks like you have a good spot for her.

BTW, excellent post about starting up. You actually had more than just the finances to startup, you have the business sense and common sense to make it work properly, plus you've done your homework well. Perhaps the only "luck" I could see is the source of your loads. Looks like you got a good one.

After watching one of my friends get eaten alive on a Lease Purchase with Prime, I pretty much hate the idea, but I have recently been reading a JCT thread with a driver who is getting as many miles as he wants. That is the only way I would ever even consider leasing. Perhaps there are more legitimate leases out there, but after being on this forum since 2007, I haven't heard of any. Either way, just like you said, I think buying (if you have the resources) and experience is the best way to go.

Be careful, be on time, but most importantly, be safe.

Thanks for being cool about it guys... sorry to suck all the air out of the room there lol!

Anyway today I get a lesson in not depending on trucking plans to work out the way you want. Today was kind of a bust. I prefer to drive later in the evening/night than morning, so I had planned to sleep in a bit, go deliver an hour away around eleven, deadhead for an hour and a half, then drive the evening to VA to deliver first thing in the morning.

Well 77 was dead stopped for an hour in north carolina, got to my delivery after noon instead of 11am. Delays there, took a couple hours to get weighed and unloaded. Then I couldn't find my cell phone when leaving. I lost another half hour walking the place (I had it as I was pulling in), so I'm sure what happened is it fell out of my hoodie pocket and down into the grate with the phosphates. So then I had to search all over google maps to find a street view of an ATT that looked like a truck could go there. I made it there and it took 40 minutes or so to get everything set up. At that point it was 3:55 and I was only 15 minutes from my pickup. Well I called and they say they closed at 4pm.

So another hour finding parking somewhere around Charlotte where I began, just barely too far to justify going back home, and I get to sit here all night, only 2 real hours of trucking put in today :biggrin_25511:

Also my tarp roller handle came off and was dragging behind the truck... luckily I was able to figure that out and get it fixed. And I just noticed that I have a headlight out. :biggrin_2555:

well I guess some days are better than others...

You said it all right there, man.

Sorry you had a Murphy day. So did you lose all your contacts in your phone?

    Every #### one.

And I haven't LOST a phone for years even though many have stopped working. I had YEARS of numbers in there...people that now undoubtedly I'll never speak to again since I've lost track of them. Heck I don't think I know my mom's number by heart... haven't had to.

Plus, that was a MUCH better phone, lost a gig microSD, pics, everything. I refused to get the cheapo price on the new phone because It keeps extending my contract for another 2 years and it's a crappy contract without enough minutes, so I paid that ridiculous fake price you're never supposed to have to pay this time...so I got a relatively cheap one ($170).

Anyway, I still have access to the PM'd numbers by saving my emails, but if you get a chance at some point before I call then hit me once so I have it in there.

    ????

See this is why I need out of my contract!

I have their new brochure in my hands right now. I don't see anything like that. They have up to 6000 minutes for $349, so I don't see why they'd offer unlimited for less than a 3rd??
