not to mention you're not gonna haul more than 35 or 38k....

most of those trucks are used by ppl with ded freight like jet engines or household movers that know they wont ever have to haul heavy

    Expenses and quotes so far:

    Paid so sar:
    LLC - $160
    Domain - $10
    DOT/MC Filing: $300
    Process server: $45

    Quotes:
Insurance quote: Liability, Damage, $75,000 cargo:
$6,800 per year, $1781 Down. This is for pulling end dump, 500 mile radius with a 30k value truck.

Trailer Lease: $500/month until and unless I decide to buy.

Truck: Variable, might buy outright, but if I finance will be purposely figured to about 1k/month

Sample Actual Load I would have gotten today for sizz and giggles:
    NC to VA, 200 miles.

    24 tons at $17 per ton= $408.
    10% to broker leaves $367.20.
FSC at 12% gross, $48.96. is $416.16 to work with.
Fuel cost 200/5.5mpg cautious figure is 36.4 gallons at $2.40 is $87.00 actual if no discount (I still have no idea how the taxes work, if you pay less at the pump or just more later).
$416.16 - $87 = $329.16 to the truck? (Do you say "to the truck" before or after fuel?)

This is supposed to be pretty typical of most trips though they range much farther as well. Practical to do 3 of these trips over 2 days under the right circumstances.

That's all I've figured so far, but the average per mile is supposed to be about $1.80 between going out and backhaul. Supposedly nothing less than $1.50 for any single trip.

Anyone cares to straighten me out I'd appreciate it. This just reflects my understanding at the moment.

Sounds exciting, man. Keep us posted on how it all goes.

I assume that since you're gonna pull an end dump that you're looking for a truck with a wet kit (hydraulics) already on it, right?

Yes, that will change completely the 3 trucks I mentioned. He's got a couple/few on the lot already set up with PTO/Wetline and I would choose from those, or pay $2200 to get one installed. But, with end dump I wouldn't go condo anyway, I'd go midroof, so those trucks would be out either way.

    Thanks for lookin out!

(my phone is still ringing every 20 minutes with some truck or registry sounding name to it!)

    ''to the truck''

    has 2 meanings....

    1- means net
    2- means gross

when i say to the truck i mean after everything is paid(net)...''bottom line''

some people mean ''gross'' to the truck
